Kachig completed his medical degree from the University of Sydney in 2004. He pursued an interest in obstetrics by working at Sandringham and Box Hill obstetric units, before favouring a career in General Practice.
Kachig is experienced in skin cancer assessment and has expertise in the various treatment options. He has completed his Masters in Medicine (Skin Cancer) through the University of Queensland. He is an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor by the Skin Cancer College Australasia.
As a father of two boys, he also enjoys basketball, technology, fast automobiles and supports the Hawthorn Hawks in the AFL.
